MAURITIUS FAMILY PLANNING AND WELFARE ASSOCIATION

All Individuals, Institutional Members and Youth Representatives of the Mauritius Family Planning and Welfare Association (MFPWA) are kindly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting to be held on Saturday 18th December 2021 at 10.00 am at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner, 9th Floor, Max City Building, Corner Remy Ollier and Louis Pasteur Streets, Port-Louis

AGENDA
1. Address by the Chairperson of the Interim Managing Committee
2. Consideration and Adoption of the Annual Report
3. Approval of the Audited Statement of Accounts for the year ending 31st December 2020
4. Election of -
• Chairperson;
• Treasurer;
• two Youth Representatives; and
• five members of the National Executive Committee.

The election will be conducted by the Office of the Electoral Commissioner as per annexed notice.

MAURITIUS FAMILY PLANNING AND WELFARE ASSOCIATION ACT 2018

ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON, TREASURER, TWO YOUTH REPRESENTATIVES AND FIVE MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE MAURITIUS FAMILY PLANNING AND WELFARE ASSOCIATION

Notice is hereby given to all members of the Mauritius Family Planning and Welfare Association (MFPWA) that the election of members of the Committee of the said association for the period 2021-2023 will be conducted by the Office of the Electoral Commissioner on Saturday 18th December 2021 and that the Returning Officer will receive nomination of candidates for the said elections on Wednesday 1st day of December 2021, between the hours of 10 am and 2pm at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner, 4th Floor, Max City Building, cr. Remy Ollier and Louis Pasteur Streets, Port Louis.
Forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the Returning Officer, between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm on week days, at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner at the abovementioned address.

Every Nomination Paper shall -
i) specify the surname and other names, address and National Identity Card number of the candidate;
ii) be signed by not less than four (4)members of the Association;
iii) contain a declaration by the candidate that he is qualified, as per section 2 of the Second Schedule of the Mauritius Family Planning and Welfare Association Act 2018; and
iv) be accompanied by the National Identity Card of the candidate and be delivered to the Returning Officer between the said hours of 10 am and 2 pm on 1st December 2021.
Nomination papers received by post, fax or otherwise will not be considered.

APPLICATION TO VOTE BY PROXY
Any member wishing to vote by proxy should call in person and produce his National Identity Card to the Executive Director at the office of the MFPWA for collection of application forms of appointment of proxy as from Thursday 02 December 2021 during office hours.
All application for proxy forms should reach the Executive Director not later than 11 December 2021 by noon.

Envelopes should be clearly marked “PROXY”.
It is brought to the attention of all concerned that:
(a) A member of the Association is entitled to appoint only one proxy to vote on his/her behalf
(b) A member of the Association shall not be entitled to vote in person at an election where that member’s application for proxy has been allowed.
(c) Only application forms bearing the seal of the Office of the Electoral Commissioner will be accepted.
